Spotify

So, those of you who are following me on Twitter would have seen recently that I have been playing with Spotify.  It is a new service (still in closed Beta) that allows you to search for pretty much any song you like, stream it, create playlists, share them with friends etc.  Unfortunately until the launch I am not allowed to reveal too much but all I will say is that it is awesome.  I have given all my invites away but go and subscribe for a Beta account.

I don’t really know what we have to wait from Spotify, since websites like http://www.deezer.com/en already offer free and legal music-on-demand, on a veeeery vast catalogue! What else?

Thanks for your comment Matt, but I think you’re missing the point. One of the really nice functions of it is not just searching music as I agree there are better services out there for that, but the community element of creating multiple playlists that you can send to your connections. Given the rise in music applications I think it will be a long time before one comes along which blows the others out the water (although Blip is still working for me).

Got something to say?
