I wanted to highlight this site created by Carat-Fusion for Adidas which is one of the better campaigns that has come out of the Superbowl. Adidas are already thinking ahead to the summer promoting a 7on7 football tournament for best high school football teams in the US. The site is a good example of what can be achieved through Web 2.0. According to Booz Allen Hamilton 41% of UK Internet users already use Web 2.0 sites to interact and participate in a massive worldwide community of users, so brands need to start ecognising what users today actually want from a website in this ever evolving medium.

EMI has signed an agreement with U-myx allowing users to recreate artists tracks on their PC’s and then share their masterworks with other users. The move comes from EMI recognising the power of consumer generated content by allowing users to engage intimately with their artists. Personally I’m not expecting a recording contract to land at my door anytime soon, but I would encourage you to have a play on Friday afternoon anyway.

Now remember dear readers, I source content that I feel you might find interesting, I do not necessarily agree with it and can’t guarantee that some of it isn’t a little disturbing at times. Now bearing this in mind, Mediamatic have brought us The Girlfriend Experience where you can now play with real life people and get them to do what you want in a human Second Life. These real life avatars are online every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday evening for you to play with. Player and avatar explore what they can do with each other and how far the avatar will go to execute the desires of the player. I will personally be sticking with Second Life however, if any of you do try this and manage to keep out of trouble please do let me know.

I absolutely love this, you don’t need to confirm to peer pressure anymore as you can now listen to Bananarama (or whatever should tickle your fancy) on your MP3 without getting rumbled. RCA Design Interactions student Alice Wang has developed these double sided headphones. On the inside, you can listen to your favourite Fromage whilst cunningly on the outside playing popular music that all the cool kids are listening to. Additional gadgets include a `Popular mobile’ option that beeps at regular intervals, giving the impressions that you are constantly receiving text messages. I think I might leave that one to people who are not constantly receiving text messages, but can’t wait to test the headphones. Altogether now……”Robert De Niro’s waiting……”
